Biography
Jill Soto, Assistant Executive Director at the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD), College of Continuing Education within the University of Oklahoma. Jill has been employed at CECPD for the past 15 years. Jill has a B.S. from Oklahoma State University in Family Relations and Child Development, a M.S. in Early Childhood Studies from Walden University and is currently working on a Doctor of Education in Early Childhood from Walden University. She has had a variety of experiences from working in the classroom to being actively involved in the Statewide Professional Development System and workforce data collection in the state of Oklahoma.
Jill is currently serving on The National Workforce Registry Alliance (Alliance) board as the Secretary. Jill has served the Alliance as President, Past-President, President-Elect, and Region VI Representative. Through work with the Alliance Jill has worked on several different national advisory groups supporting national workforce data governance, collection and analysis.
Jill recently served as a co-investigator on a research study on the evaluation of classroom assessments for obesogenic environments for preschool. The purpose of this project is to compare two different classroom observation tools and determine if the globally utilized Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale can identify at-risk classrooms based on the Environmental Policy Assessment observation and objectively measured physical activity.
Jill is currently working on her dissertation on Teachers’ Self-Awareness of their Own Intentional Teaching Practices.
Jill has presented workshop sessions at many state and local events across the state of Oklahoma, as well as regional and national events including: The National Workforce Registry Alliance, NAEYC Annual Conference, Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA) and the Alliance, and NAEYC Professional Development Institute.
