MaryAnn Faubion Kohl, a former elementary education teacher, launched Bright Ring Publishing, Inc. in 1985 with her first book, Scribble Cookies (now available as Scribble ART). Bright Ring’s 9 titles about art for children, their parents, teachers, and care providers were acquired by Chicago Review Press. Twelve other titles she authored are published by Gryphon House, Inc. MaryAnn presents internationally on the topics of art for children, self-publishing for writers, and how to develop a process-art oriented home or classroom. She writes for many blogs and magazines, was a prop designer for a Jim Henson Company TV program, and consults for numerous educational groups like Kaplan Early Learning, Discount School Supply, Nickelodeon, Blue’s Clues, and Fisher-Price. She enjoys writing short essays on memorable childhood experiences. MaryAnn and her dog Frances live near Bellingham, Washington on a windy beach.
