Biography
Faith Rogow, Ph.D., is an independent scholar, founder of InsightersEducation.com, and celebrated innovator of media literacy education practices. Among her many publications, her groundbreaking 2002 article, “The ABCs of Media Literacy,” was one of the first in the U.S. to explore media literacy education methods that are developmentally appropriate for early childhood. That work has now been expanded into an acclaimed book: Media Literacy for Young Children: Teaching Beyond the Screen Time Debates (NAEYC).
Dr. Rogow also served as the founding President of the National Association for Media Literacy Education, a founding editorial board member of the Journal for Media Literacy Education, and she was a driving force in the development of NAMLE’s Core Principles of Media Literacy Education. Most recently she authored “Preparing for Civic Responsibility in Our Digital Age: A Framework to Ensure Media Literacy Education for Every Student” (Center for Educational Equity, Teachers College, Columbia University), which offers a developmental continuum for media literacy anchor skills.
