Biography
Kamye Hugley is an experienced education professional who works to support student-level impact in order for all students to receive an equitable education. Her experience working in schools across the United States fuels her desire to provide all students a quality education regardless of their zip code.
As a nonprofit leader, Kamye has worked with AmeriCorps members serving across multiple grade levels to develop the knowledge and skills required to deliver quality literacy and math interventions to students.
Kamye has served as a Head Start Teacher with Broward County Public Schools and as an Intensive Reading Teacher for grades 9, 11, and 12 with The School District of Palm Beach County. She has also served as a Tutor at Palm Beach State College in Boca Raton, guiding students in their writing development and assisting students with coursework in English, Reading, and EAP (English for Academic Purposes).
A native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kamye is a proud graduate of Broward County Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida and a Master of Science degree in Reading (K-12) from Barry University. Kamye started her career in education as a D.C. Region Corps Member with Teach For America, serving as a Head Start Teacher in Prince George’s County, MD. A lover of exercise and dessert, she resides in South Florida with her husband, Anthony.
