Biography
Lisa Boggess received her undergraduate degree and teaching certifications while at Illinois Wesleyan University, and holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from National-Louis University. Ms. Boggess is certified in Psychological Assessment and has completed graduate work in Early Childhood Education. With more than 14 years of experience working with children and youth, her roles have included classroom teacher, private instructor, music director for children and adults, youth program director, counselor, healthy living consultant for children and adults, team-building facilitator, and published writer for a national camp curriculum. Ms. Boggess has led early childhood technology and professional development trainings, and worked directly with quality rating system assessors. She is a certified coach in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), trained in the Program Administration Scale (PAS), and has worked extensively with the Early Childhood Work Environment Survey (ECWES). Currently, Ms. Boggess is a Professional Development Specialist with the Francis Institute for Child and Youth Development. She provides on-site coaching, training, and technical assistance to local early childhood programs in the Kansas City area. She is a national speaker for both live and online trainings. Ms. Boggess is passionate about brain research and shares her belief that the experiences, interactions, and environment we provide to children influence their brain development and social-emotional growth, thus affecting their success in life.
