Biography
Kristen is the founding director of Butterfly Hill Nature Preschool and Wild Rumpus, a school age adventure program in Minnesota. Recognizing a lack of play, adventure, nature, discovery and wonder based learning opportunities in her community, Kristen started from scratch to create a place where children are cherished as they are in a developmentally appropriate environment. On her blog and social media, Learning Wild, and in her podcast, The Play Based Learning Podcast, Kristen offers insight to help early childhood educators create an environment that is developmentally appropriate for the young children.
Kristen is not just a teacher and lifelong learner… She has four children, homeschools three, has a house full of animals, loves donuts and adventuring to new places.
