Biography
Rachel Barr is an Associate professor at Georgetown University in the Department of Psychology. She is developmental psychologist whose research focuses on understanding the learning and memory mechanisms that develop during early childhood. Over the past decade my research has focused on how young children obtain information from various media sources such as television, tablets, books, and computers. My colleagues and I have conducted a number of studies examining how children learn from these media and have found evidence of a transfer deficit. We have also conducted studies demonstrating that the quality of parent-infant interactions enhances learning from media.
